Bhaveen Sheth-DOTSIM- And one Fine day i just decided to live a Single Life.

DOTSIM stands for The Life of the Single Indian Male.

My Dear Friends,

Happy Holi and Happy Good Friday.

I hope everyone must have enjoyed and are still enjoying their holidays that subsequently got clubbed with the weekend.

I would like to share my feelings on how one fine day i just decided to live a single life. You may call it weird for a young person like me deciding to life alone at such an early age but there are reasons.

Men, especially Indian men decide to live a single life only after going through bitter experiences of marriage and subsequent divorce, some make sacrifices in order to serve their disabled aging parents and some do it as they have family responsibilities of getting their siblings settled down in life and in doing so, they decide to make sacrifices.

I don't belong to any of the above categories. My previous blog posts and my introduction has clearly stated that i am an orphan, though not by birth but by destiny. Having lost my parents at a young age and having no relatives to take care of me, i hard to work the hard way in life and rise. At present I am happy and content at the position i have reached and the academic credentials i have achieved.

Bhaveen Sheth-DOTSIM-Arshad Warsi- An Icon to Orphans

This post pays tribute to Bollywood Actor Arshad Warsi, who was orphaned at very young age and struggled all his way to reach the top.

The writeup below has been taken from Hindu magazine:

THERE WAS a time when Arshad Warsi's financial standing was dangerously hovering between imminent bankruptcy and absolute financial disaster. He was selling lipstick and nail polish in buses between Borivelli and Bandra, then.

An orphan at 14, Arshad Warsi is a self-made man. "I knew just one dream, I had to become rich. How? No clue," the actor goes on a flashback. "I was doing all sorts of odd jobs to keep myself alive on the streets of Mumbai. At that time, to own a house, travel in cars and eat more than mere salt-rice seemed a pipe dream," he says with a wry smile. Observation taught Arshad (who was 21 then) dance, while sheer grit and keenness won him the fourth-prize in World English Jazz Dancing Competition in 1991, London. The prize put him on a waltz, from where there was no looking back.

Bhaveen Sheth-DOTSIM- So why are you not yet married ???

DOTSIM stands for the diary of the Single Indian Male:

Today i type down my feelings, thoughts and statements that come in my mind when i am asked this single disparaging question  " So Why you are not yet married"?????

Aughhhh, the feeling of disgust that i get??? I just ask myself that why can't people in my country , INDIA learn to mind their own businesses??? But no,  because every Indian Citizen has an unspoken birthright to intrude onto the privacy of others!!!!!

Okay, i am 30 years old, so what?? It does not make me old!!!! I happen to be an Orphan, having lost my parents at a younger age. My late teenage years and the entire decade of 20's went in struggling and working hard to reach  a good position in my career.

Do you know sir/madam know , what does it mean to be an Orphan in this country?? Do you know how difficult is it to be an orphan in the upwardly mobile Indian society???

No, and how can you know that, you have had your parents, your extended relatives  perform all the matrimonial ceremonies for you, right from finding the right mate to arranging the marriage.

Bhaveen Sheth-DOTSIM-Leave that dysfunctional family of yours

DOTSIM stands for the diary of the single Indian male.

My dear single Indian male friends,

I was planning to write on this topic since long, but could not find the right words to express my thoughts. However this time i am able to pen down the same.

I discuss today on Dysfunctional families and if you happen to be in one, then  why you should leave your family as soon as possible

Dysfunctional families-A dysfunctional family is a family in which conflict, misbehavior, and often child neglect or abuse on the part of individual parents occur continually and regularly, leading other members to accommodate such actions. Children sometimes grow up in such families with the understanding that such an arrangement is normal. Dysfunctional families are primarily a result of co-dependent adults, and may also be affected by addictions, such as substance abuse (alcohol, drugs, etc.), or sometimes an untreated mental illness. Dysfunctional parents may emulate or over-correct from their own dysfunctional parents. In some cases, a "child-like" parent will allow the dominant parent to abuse their children.

The above definition has been taken from an online Wikipedia source.
