A brief history on the MGTOW movement in Indian-Bhaveen Sheth-Indian MGTOW-DOTSIM

MGTOW stands for Men Going Their Own Way!!This is a movement that started way back in the 70's where strong self sufficient men in the West started rejecting the concept of marriage and eventually began living life on their own terms.

No one ever thought that this movement would make its way into India. India has a strong society where family serves as a protective roof for an individual. With the advent of feminism in India in the 80's, institutions like family, marriage and extended social relations started getting affected. In 1983 there was an amendment in the dowry act, criminalizing dowry which invoked a draconian section known as 498 A Dowry act.More amendments followed. In 2005, the Domestic Violence act was invoked followed by amendments in many other laws that were anti-male and ant-marriage. These laws made it very clear that should the marriage fail, the man and his family were to lose everything: money, reputation and property.

The early decade of 90's witnessed economic liberalization and end of the license raj, bureaucracy and redtapism. A free market started and many industrial sectors opened up to foreign investments. Cable TV and satellite television made its way into our living rooms and so did western culture. With Ekta Kappors's family drama soaps occupying  prime time on all popular channels we got to witness the rise in the toxicity and paranoia amongst the young Indian girls especially from small cities and towns.

Economic liberalization brought new opportunities in India and jobs paid higher salaries. Men started earning good packages reaping the benefits of a growing economy. IT and IT enabled services picked up in India generating jobs offering good salaries. Similarly, MBA's with college placements offering unheard packages become the talk of the town.

Women became equally empowered by obtaining a decent educations and joining the work force. Unfortunately by the late 90's the institution of marriage was commercialized. The girl and her parents started looking for benefits in the marriage. Who earned a better salary?Which man had a green card?Who had got an onsite posting? Who owned a house of his own? Men started being looked upon as commodities. No one was interested in behaviour, character and integrity. Morals did not mater in the face of materialism.

By the dawn of the 21st century, the Indian man had become a commodity in the marriage market. His education, job, monthly salary, bank balance and property etc defined his marital prospects. Simultaneously third wave feminism hit India. Indian women became more demanding. An over pampered generation of women were looking for benefits and luxuries from marriage. When their marriages did not work out, they went the courts and a new trend emerged where in women started filling all kinds of false cases like 498 A, DV, mental harassment etc against the husbands and the in-laws.Innocent men became the victims of a gender biased and prejudiced legal system.

In early 2000's the men's rights movement started. It was a stand taken against the false cases filled by a women and their  families against the husbands. Internet followed by social media brought an awareness on this issue.

In the early 10's, the MGTOW movement finally arrived in India. Wise Indian men decided to take the red pill and go the MGTOW way. By this time the institution of marriage had become dysfunctional.Men had seen what damage  failed marriages had brought upon other men.You tube channels started spreading awareness on the MGTOW movement. Matrimonial websites exposed the underbelly of greed and materialism of the women and their parents.Such stories of greed and gold diggers were shared on Qoura, a popular story sharing site.

By 2019, the time when I am writing this post, the MGTOW movement is active across Indian with new followers joining it each day.

Just forget marriage, MGTOW men have nothing to do with women. The METOO movement has become another example of toxic feminzasim.

This is how the MGTOW movement started and gain popularity in India and as a veteran MGTOW, I just thought of writing a brief history.

This is Bhaveen Sheth signing off for the day and will be back with a lot more.

The single Indian man needs to reclaim his space outside-Bhaveen Sheth-Inidan MGTOW-DOTSIM

The Single Indian man, Bhaveen Sheth has a message for all other fellow single Indian men and fellow MGTOWs " Go outside and reclaim your space"

Yes my dear friend, you ought to reclaim your rightful place. I see so many single Indian men who just go back into their shells and become reclusive. Many single Indian men find solace in their empty homes, they do not wish to face the outside world. Work and groceries are the only thing that pushes the single Indian men to go outside. This is where we need to change.

We have to take ourselves out to watch movies in multiplexes, go and dine in good restaurants, attend some important events and travel across India in a bike or a car.

We just cannot become a recluse because we are single and don't have  a companion. We don't know what the future holds so why compromise our present. Your time won't come back and after soem years you will only have regrets on what you did not do.

This is me in the year 2017 at Gokarna railway station. I had taken a vacation for 10 days in order to explore Gokarana, located in South India, known for its famous beaches.

Take my advice, go outside and reclaim your space.

On being Happily unmarried or being unhappily married

I come across a lot of people who often say that they are happily married when they introduce themselves.

And I,  the single Indian Male often wonders, is it all true??? How come everyone is happily married???? HAHAHAHAHAHAA, its all a bluff. We Indians love faking a happy marriage in front of people.

The single people are often made to feel unhappy , courtesy their single status.

And then I say, where is the happiness in a dysfunctional marriage?? Where is the happiness in being stuck with a person whom you cant even  relate to??? Where is the happiness in living a dull mediocre life???

No pun intended, but majority of Indian men get married for two things, just two things. Sex and society approval. That's it. That is the only thing that one gets married for. And when the sexual hangover is over, the society approval has come through, life just becomes boring. There is nothing special.

No one, just no one has ever advertised the concept of a happy single life in India. No one has portrayed a happy unmarried life. Why???? Cause such things don't sell dude. Just imagine if solo living was strongly advertised it would have become a threat to the entire matrimonial industry.

And if given a choice of what I the single Indian male would like to choose a single life, at least it guarantees happiness.

Why does the Indian Society detest the Single Indian Male

My Dear Single Indian Male Friends,

Greetings for the day!!!!

I hope you guys are doing good and are enjoying the winter. Its a pleasant season indeed, the cold climate, the pleasant weather, the hot beverages, the winter wear and for some lucky guys a lovely sex life, I mean if you are really having one (HIHIHIHIHIIIII)

Putting all the above things aside, I would like to write down my thoughts on the main topic i.e.why does the Indian Society hare and detest the Single India Male!!!!! Any takers to my statement. Maybe none.

People of the Indian Society don't like us and i will be very frank about it. And please, I am not imagining, I am not paranoid and I am certainly not schizophrenic. I am just being tuthful.

We the Single Indian Male challenge the very norms/rules that make up the pillars of the Indian Society. Every single man worth his salt gets married and when we dare to be different we are certainly looked upon with contempt and disgust.

One can see single females around, many of them have chosen to remain single because of their own personal reasons and I can very well understand that. But Men!!!! Seriously!!!! How many men have you seen remaining single all their lives because they made a choice.Chances are,  very few.

Our single status is a cause of concern to anyone and everyone around us. Relatives who just won't stop asking questions on when we we will get hitched or are trying to hook us up with some family friend they know who also happens to be single. Office colleagues who feel that we are desperate and need someone ( I still don't get it that how can one have such a weird imagination). But no one in India follows the principle "To Each on his own" or " Live and let live"

The fact is that the Indian Society can't see a single man living his life happily and enjoying. The fact is that many of our married counter parts are living a miserable life, a life filled with frustrations, loveless marriages, the resposnibilities, children, loans and EMI's etc and what not.

The Elderly people see us as rebels who are breaking the traditions. Protective parents see us as potential rapists, pedophiles and sex maniacs  who are out to abuse their children. Insecure husbands looks upon us to be a threat, the kind of bad boy who will snatch his wife. Landlords look upon us as trouble makers.

Al the above assumptions are made and perceived by the members of the Indian society.

But none of them are willing to accept that they (the people of the Indian Society) are secretly envying our single lives. We live life fully, we enjoy. We have our hobbies and we are creative. We have no responsibilities other than that of our parents or siblings. We have no burdens of EMI's or home loans. No children. No spouse with whom we are stuck forever even if we don't like/love them . The flexibility of changing jobs or pursuing our interests, freedom to join our dream organizations, the joy of backpacking and traveling alone. The enjoyment that we derive of going to watch movies in multiplexes, cinemas, shows/dramas, book events, plays, exhibitions etc while they are all stuck with that HAPPY INDIAN FAMILY. And not forget the jealousy you get when you see us lean and thin and TONED  ( because we have time to exercise and work out) while you are having a pot belly just waiting to burst out. Our grooming makes people go green with envy.

When perceptions and realities don't match people find it hard to accept. Time and again, movies have shown the single man to be brooding, a man with broken heart who also happens to be alcoholic, a depressed man who is perpetually crying, man who is waiting for a princess to come along. Now that's what movies show, but in reality when people see us happily enjoying our lives, all they can do is hate.

So be it, let them hate us. Let them say all sorts of things, you know, losers, irresponsible, uncommitted, free living, hippy, hermits and whatever. We are what we are, the Single Indian Men  and we will live our lives the way we want it to be.
