The Woman I Admire Part 4-Gul Panag

Gul Panag, for starters I don't that think she needs any introduction:

She represents the Smart, Modern, Independent and Confident Indian Woman and not the dumb witted ignorant actresses that one commonly sees around in Bollywood. The first thing that attracts someone towards her is her Beautiful Dimpled Smile and then of course her intellect.

Born to an Army Officer she had the chance of studying and living in different locations. She was selected as Femina Miss India in 1999 and had represented India in Miss Universe Contest Internationally.

And Guys!!! She is not a mere eye candy, she holds a Bachelors in Maths and a Masters in Political Science, certainly a woman with brains and not just looks.

Every Movie that she has acted in she has portrayed herself as a different Woman and always a woman of strength, courage and conviction. In her First Movie Dhoop, she plays the role of Pihu ,the fiance of a Dead Army Officer , a role essayed with great dignity, of Zeenat in the Movie Dor as a Woman who is against all odds to save her Husband, followed by Manorama Six Feet under and Summer 2007.She portrays a modern Indian Woman in the Movie "Hello", a girlfriend in a Live in realtionship in the Movie Rann, a hardworking corporate woman working for an incompetent, dumb and a pervert boss in "Hello Darling" and a woman makes sense of her life and coming in terms with it in the Movie "Turning 30". Her recently released movie was FATSO.

A Multifaceted and Talented Woman she is an actress, a voice actress, a model and a former Beauty Queen and not limited to that she is an Animal Lover, a soon to be aviator, a travel writer, an automobile reviewer, an activist, a Marathon Runner and a Fitness Enthusiast. Gosh!!!!!! The list is endless.

Her love for Adventure sports is in Rafting, Rock Climbing and Trekking. She has a tailor made Scorpio Car and driving and camping from Mumbai to Ladkh in her car has become an annual pilgrimage for her.

Bitten by the travel bug she loves exploring new places and she has also been appointed by the the Governement of Finland as their country's brand Ambassador to India.

An Avid reader who loves reading 3 books at a time, one at her bedside, one in her and and the third one in her handbag.

She openly discusses on Woman's Issues and while her stance is strong on it , she also tells woman to exercise caution clearly explaining that with the Freedom of what to wear there comes a freedom of responsibility.

Gul Panag is the Symbol of the Modern Professional Socially Upward Mobile Indian Woman. A person who lives by herself and is very independent, she can make plenty of men insecure and give an inferiority complex to many Future Indian Mother-In-Laws. But this fact has to be accepted that with the rise of Modern India one will find more and more woman like Gul Panag.

Gul, Hats off to you. I, Bhaveen Sheth salutes you. Salutes you for your Strength, Courage, Conviction, Knowledge, Skills, Independence and many other Qualities that you have.

This is Bhaveen Sheth signing off for the Day. Will be back with some more.
