At 34 being single

As I age and add an extra candle to my birthday cake, I write down my thoughts and feelings in this blogspot.

I am now approaching my mid 30's. Life is going on.My juniors are now getting married and peers are raising a family. At this point of life I have overcome the challenges that solo living puts in front of me.No longer desperate to get married, I now focus on improving the quality of my life everyday. Women no longer interest me and marriage may now be an unrealized dream. Focus is on self improvement and self development has become an integral part of my life.

There are times when I feel lonely, sad and alone:I feel that I have been left out from living a normal life.Did not get married, do not have a spouse and have not fathered a child. Yes, I go through such times. But every morning when I wake up , I look forward at contributing something to the world, look forward to improve my life, look forward at a better future. That is when I realized that I am happy being single.

I no longer dream of meeting that beautiful soul mate.If some were to happen, it will happen, why should I bother? Many single women that I come across have extremely high expectations even in their 30's and rest of them are divorcees, widows, single moms, the dejected and rejected. Who wants to marry conceited and depressed women?

Creating meaningful relationships with people is more important for me. I have realized my sociability quotient, people love my company and often invite me to their homes for lunch and dinner. It makes me happy.

As I look over the past 34 years, my life has been good, there have been ups and downs, good times and bad times and I have accepted it.There is still a lot to achieve, miles to go and places to travel. I have not given up hope on finding a soul mate, however, I have become more pragmatic and practical.I look forward to what life has to offer and am willing to take the challenges head on.

Wisdom from Arundhati Roy

I love to read the articles of activist  cum columnist Arundhati Roy.She is is a lady who needs no introduction. For those who don't know her please visit her Wikipedia link below to get a better insight:

A few day ago, I cam across a famous quote from one of the books authored by her titled as the "War Talk".

The quote goes something like this:

"Our strategy should not only be to confront an empire but to also lay siege to it.To deprive it of oxygen. To  shame it. To mock it. With our art , our music our literature, our stubbornness , our joy, our brilliance, our sheer restlessness and our ability to tell our own stories that are different from the ones we are brainwashed to believe"

I know that the above quote applies to autocratic and dictatorial governments that want to subjugate their populations.

But I feel that the above quote also applies to the Indian society. A society hell bent on brainwashing people and forcing them to follow unwanted rules and regulations.

To all my single Indian male friends out there, go ahead and live your single life with no complaints. Show the world that we the single men can live a quality life.

Go ahead and make these so called happily married couples realize that single Indian men too can live a happy life.

Go ahead indulge yourself, start loving arts, watch good movies, read wonderful books, attend seminars and conclaves. Go on road trips, visit different parts of India, do your daily chores, pay your bills, wash and iron your clothes, cook good food, exercise, lift weights, swim , run a marathon, go to a sex worker, date a woman, eat at good restaurants, take up advanced professional certifications, rise in your career.

But remain stubborn, stand up for what you believe in. make your own story. A story of your own life that will be unconventional.Go ahead and tread a different path and let people be inspired by your life..

Go and tread your own course and don't get brainwashed by the philosophy of the Indian society.

This is Bhaveen Sheth signing off for the day and will be back with a lot more.

You Tube. A great source of entertainment

Every single Indian man worth his salt reading this blog post will know about You tube and will be able to link it up on the Internet.
Yes we know that you tube has been existing on the net for a long time. But is it of any use to us Indians??? Considering the slow internet connections that we have, the low bandwidths and not to forget that it takes an entire night to download a movie on torrent.
I agree!!!! But guys!!! Have you tried to view it on your smart phone???? If not please try it. Streamlining on your Smartphone.
I discovered this a year after I had bought my Samsung galaxy S 3 Mini smart phone. It was fun to watch videos and movie trailers. But then a thought came to my mind. Why not watch an entire movie???
