Last Sunday, I came across this news article in times of India. It stated that a man shot his virtual facebook friend whom he was communicating with for a very long time as he got frustrated when met her person and felt that he had been cheated:

It seems that after shooting her , he shot and killed himself.
Let us examine this case in depth. Two people, Vir Singh, age 22, from Muzzafarnagar, U.P, jobless and Mrs Jyoti Kori, age 45, from Jabalpur, bored housewife, mother of 3 children and wife of a government employee.
Some excerpts from the article "It seemed like murder prompted by extreme hurt, frustration and anger, said Mishra. According to sources, Singh kept repeating that he was cheated by a married woman when he was brought to hospital. "She kept me in dark all along," he said.
Jyoti had put up a picture of a cine actress as her profile picture so Singh had no means of knowing the truth. They finally fixed a date at marble rocks on Friday. Jyoti told her family she was off for two days to her mother's home and the boy told his parents he was going to Delhi in search of a job. The woman left home on Thursday went to her parental home but left early in the morning."
Just look at the male Mr.Vir Singh, single, jobless and frustrated, not knowing where life is heading to. He finds solace in a person whom he has met virtually. He does not know her, he has never met her and yet he becomes emotionally dependent on her. What follows later is tragedy.
This is also one kind of a lesson to the single Indian males, though we may not be as violent as Vir Singh who took such an extreme step, but still some precautions need to be taken.
Loneliness and desperation is dangerous combination and if not taken care of, it in itself can lead to dangerous repercussions. This incident is a true example of what exists in our volatile society.
Never be desperate, never feel sad that you have been left all alone with no one to be by your side. It is better to have a close friend than find solace in a cheating woman.
And lastly , try not to feel lonely. Keep yourself occupied, engage yourself in some kind of activity, set some goals in your life, develop your knowledge and skills. This will keep your mind occupied.
So think over and improve your life. Companionship of a woman is important , but one does not have to go to extreme ends in order to have it.
